Want to transfer your HelpKit project to someone else? No problem — here’s how to promote a different team member to Admin and transfer full ownership.
⚠️ Important: Each project can only have one Admin at a time. When you promote someone else, your role will be downgraded to Editor and all billing + project ownership will be transferred to the new Admin.
✅ Steps to Transfer Ownership
1. Make sure the new Admin has a HelpKit account
They must have already signed up and verified their email.
2. Add them as a team member
If they’re not already part of your project:
- Go to Settings → Team Members
- Invite them as a Viewer or Editor
3. Promote them to Admin
- In the Team tab, click the dropdown next to their role
- Select “Promote to Admin”

- Confirm the action in the popup

This will:
- Transfer the Admin role + ownership of the project
- Migrate all subscriptions and billing
- Convert your account to an Editor
🔄 After the Transfer
- Ask the new Admin to refresh the page
- You may need to log out and back in to see the changes reflected
🧾 Changing Invoice Email?
If you want to update the billing/invoice email address after transferring Admin rights, just contact us — we’ll take care of it manually.
❌ Want to remove the old Admin account?
Let us know! We’re happy to fully remove the previous Admin’s account if it’s no longer needed.
